Garden Party Hard Soda brings a new kind of spirit to Indiana

Garden Party named as one of “Summer’s Best Cocktails” by Gear Patrol Magazine

Indianapolis’ own Garden Party Botanical Hard Soda is featured in a current Gear Patrol article titled “Summer’s Best Cocktails Come in a Can”. Along with Garden Party, the other brands featured were San Diego’s Cut Water, New York City’s Fisher’s Island, Philadelphia’s Slow and Low and Brazil’s Novo Fogo.

In the article, the New York City-based publication highlighted Garden Party Ruby and stated that “(I)t’s fruity but not overwhelmingly so — and not cloyingly sweet (as malt beverages tend to be), either” and recommended adding a splash of vodka for an unconventional take on a Moscow Mule.

Gear Patrol is an award-winning digital, social and print publication that reaches nearly two million readers and was winner of “Best New Magazine” and “Best New Magazine Launch” in 2016.

The Gear Patrol accolades continues the impressive national press for Erin Edds’ Garden Party Botanical Hard Soda since launching last November. In December, Garden Party became the first Indiana brand and first woman-owned brand to win an “Innovation of the Year” award from Beverage Industry Magazine and in March, Garden Party was featured in the print edition of Bloomberg Businessweek as reviving the wine cooler with an artisan twist.

Garden Party is available for purchase in retail and restaurants in 85 of the 92 Indiana counties and in selected Target, Fresh Thyme and Whole Foods locations.

Indianapolis-based and woman-owned Garden Party Botanical Hard Soda is featured in Bloomberg Businessweek in a feature titled: “Wine Coolers are Back and this Time They’re Artisanal”.

Garden Party was listed in the wine cooler category alongside the new Ramona Wine Cooler brand created by the beverage director at New York’s James Beard award-winning Momofuku Group.

This is the second time that Garden Party has received national attention since launching last November. In December, Garden Party won Beverage Industry Magazine’s 2016 Innovation of the Year, becoming the first Indiana beverage brand and first woman-owned nationwide to be awarded that honor.

Erin Edds created Garden Party in 2016 around the concept of “The Wine Cooler Grows Up” and only four months after launching, it looks like the rest of the country is starting to take notice.

Garden Party Botanical Hard Soda Announces New Indiana Distribution Agreements

New deals expand the award-winning new brand into Fort Wayne and Northwestern Indiana markets

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – DrinkGP, LLC today announced two new distribution agreements with Anheuser-Busch Distributors in Northern Indiana. Beginning this week, the Indianapolis-based company’s award-winning, all-natural Garden Party Botanical Hard Soda is available in an additional 16 counties in Northwestern and Northeastern Indiana.

Garden Party’s two flagship flavors, VIOLET and RUBY will be distributed in the Fort Wayne regional market through AALCO Distributing, and by Hammond-based Calumet Beverage servicing the Northwest Indiana regional market. The expanded distribution extends the footprint of the Garden Party Hard Soda brand to over 90 percent of Indiana in less than six months after launching last November.

“We’re very excited to partner with two established and respected distributors in Northern Indiana to give Hoosiers from Evansville to Fort Wayne the opportunity to purchase an innovative Indiana product,” says Erin Edds, Garden Party Founder and CEO. “We’re looking forward to sharing our story of “the wine cooler grows up” and introducing Garden Party to the people of Northern Indiana.”

The new distribution agreements continue the strong momentum for Garden Party since Edds announced almost a year ago plans to create and release a premium hard soda with botanical flavors and less sugar. At that time, the company had secured an unprecedented distribution agreement with Monarch Beverage months before the hard soda went into production.

Since their launch, Garden Party became the first Indiana beverage brand and first woman- owned brand in the country to win the coveted Beverage Industry Magazine Innovation of the Year. Recently, the brand earned national recognition celebrating the elevation of the wine cooler to an artisan beverage in an article in the print edition of Bloomberg Businessweek.

“Garden Party has introduced premiumization to the flavored malt beverage category, and the enthusiastic response to Violet and Ruby from consumers and the beverage industry both locally and nationally tells us that we are leading the next phase of this rapidly growing adult beverage market,” Edds added. “Our business model allows us to target consumers both inside and outside of Indiana and this is the next step in our long-term plans to scale the brand regionally and nationally.”

Currently Garden Party Botanical Hard Soda is available in over 150 retail, restaurant and bars in Central and Southern Indiana, including select stores: Super Target, Fresh Thyme, Whole Foods and all locations of Big Red Liquors. Garden Party is carried in bars, restaurants, and grocery stores where premium adult beverages are sold. Additional distribution outside of Indiana will be announced soon.

INDIANAPOLIS (December 12, 2016) – Garden Party Botanical Hard Soda announced today that it has been named a 2016 Innovation of the Year winner by Beverage Industry Magazine, becoming the first woman-owned brand and first Indiana-based beverage company to earn this high industry honor.

Beverage Industry’s Innovation of the Year award is an annual honor highlighting the top five new releases out of the over 3,000 beverages launched in 2016. Award recipients are selected by Beverage Industry editors based upon innovation of concept, branding, packaging and quality. Garden Party Botanical joins notable past winners Starbucks Iced Coffee, Kickstart by Mountain Dew, Dogfish Head Sixty-One, Malibu Rum Sparklers and Maxwell House.

Garden Party Botanical co-founder and president Erin Edds is known for co-founding the award-winning Hoosier Momma Bloody Mary Maker in 2010 and the brand was recognized by several national publications for introducing a craft element to the mixer category. It was after exiting Hoosier Momma in early 2015 that she recognized a gap in the growing hard soda market for an all-natural, premium hard soda offering. In November 2015, Edds and her husband Stephen began developing their vision for Garden Party Botanical.

The all-natural, premium hard sodas contain eight percent alcohol by volume and were created to bridge the gap for those seeking a high-quality alternative to craft beers, spirits and wine.
